Description
Description
Through the 'Eternal' collection, the British artist Damien Hirst presents a series of motifs that can be read as emblematic of the cycle of life, rendered eternal in Lalique crystal.
Eternal Sinner – in which the fossilized imprint of a large snake dominates a triptych of glass panels – portrays another key animal from the Genesis story. Damien Hirst’s interest in serpents can be seen in numerous artworks within his 2017 exhibition Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable – in particular, the muscular marble serpent in The Fate of a Banished Man.
